Briefly in English

Hevinkelium was founded in 1997 after a weird conversation in a bar in Turku, Finland. A group of Finnish rock musicians decided that it would be a good idea to arrange some old hymns again and play them as heavy metal songs. The group that called themselves "Hevinkelium" released their first album and single in 1998 through Mefisto Production. They also started a tradition to do a series of gigs every Christmas season. In spite of all the plans and effort somehow they never got around to start working on the second album - until now!

Even so, they have established themselves as some kind of a legend in the Finnish heavy metal scene.

14.10.2008 Traditional Christmas gig coming up

This year is no exception, Hevinkelium will do their traditional Christmas gig on December the 23^th at Klubi, Turku, Finland.

20.12.2007 Guitarist's arm broken

HEVINKELIUM CANCELS TWO GIGS

Hevinkelium is forced to cancel two of their Christmas Tour gigs, because the guitarist has broken his arm. The third gig (23.12.) will be played with a substitute guitarist.

At the moment it is unsure when he is allowed to play again.

HEVINKELIUM TO RECORD A NEW ALBUM AFTER 10 YEARS

This fall, on September the 26th, the Finnish heavy metal group Hevinkelium starts recording it's second album 10 years after the first was published. Hevinkelium performs old Finnish hymns with a heavy metal touch, and only in Finnish. Their first album was reliesed in 1998, and since then the fans have been asking for more. Now their long wait shall be rewarded. The release date hasn't yet been confirmed, but the band plans to release at least a single before Christmas this year.
